T&T Group Breaks Ground on Vam Cong Industrial Park in An Giang: A 199.2-Hectare Green, Multi-Functional Hub for the Mekong Delta

Tuesday, 31 Mar, 2026

On March 30, 2026, T&T Group officially broke ground on the Vam Cong Industrial Park infrastructure development project in My Thoi Ward, An Giang Province. With a scale of 199.2 hectares and total investment of VND 4,800 billion, the project is positioned as a key industrial infrastructure milestone—aimed at shaping a new-generation industrial park that is green, modern, multi-functional, and sustainable in the Mekong Delta.

A strategic industrial infrastructure project for An Giang’s next growth phase

Vam Cong Industrial Park is framed as a priority project to support An Giang’s socio-economic development, aligned with the province’s shift from being a raw-material production center toward deep processing and higher-value logistics for the wider Mekong Delta region.

The project is developed by T&T Group and received in-principle investment approval from the Prime Minister under Decision No. 890/QD-TTg dated July 25, 2022.

Location advantage: gateway position and separation from residential areas

The industrial park sits at the southeastern gateway of Long Xuyen urban area, a location highlighted for strong infrastructure connectivity and trade advantages. It spans both sides of the National Highway 91 bypass, a key ring-road corridor that supports convenient access to the city center while keeping industrial activity separate from residential zones—supporting a more sustainable industrial layout.

Multi-modal connectivity built around highways, waterways, and air links

Connectivity is one of the project’s core selling points.

  • The site is about 3.5 km from the western North–South expressway corridor, connecting to the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang expressway.

  • This corridor is described as enabling faster logistics access to Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Tran De Port, and other major economic centers.

The industrial park also connects directly to My Thoi Port, a logistics node on the Hau River with a planned capacity of about 1.5 million tons per year, strengthening the transport of bulk cargo at optimized costs.

In addition, it is linked to international inland waterway routes and is about 50–55 km from Can Tho International Airport, supporting a more complete multi-modal logistics network for the region.

ECOTECH 21 planning model: green industry, logistics, and ecological space

Vam Cong Industrial Park is planned under the ECOTECH 21 model, described as integrating economy with ecology and 21st-century high technology. The master plan balances production, logistics, and ecological space:

  • More than 30 hectares are allocated for logistics services.

  • Green space and water surface account for over 22% of total land area, supporting a more sustainable operating environment.

Target industries and expected employment impact

The park is expected to prioritize investment in:

  • High-tech industries

  • Food processing, agriculture and seafood processing

  • Logistics

  • Garment and footwear

  • Building materials manufacturing

  • Information technology

  • Electrical and electronics

Once operational, the project is expected to create around 7,800 jobs, strengthening An Giang’s investment attraction capacity and supporting higher value-added processing and logistics industries.

Leadership remarks at the groundbreaking

According to Nguyen Anh Tuan, Deputy CEO of T&T Group, Vam Cong Industrial Park is one of the group’s key projects in the Mekong Delta and is positioned as a gateway industrial park for Long Xuyen, reflecting a shift from traditional agriculture to modern industry with higher value creation.

With its strategic location, multi-modal connectivity, and ECOTECH 21 model, T&T Group expects the project to become a regional center for green manufacturing and modern logistics:

“Với vị trí chiến lược, khả năng kết nối đa phương thức và mô hình ECOTECH 21 tiên phong, Tập đoàn T&T Group kỳ vọng Khu công nghiệp Vàm Cống sẽ trở thành trung tâm sản xuất xanh và logistics hiện đại của khu vực, góp phần thúc đẩy chuyển dịch cơ cấu kinh tế, nâng cao giá trị chuỗi cung ứng và đóng góp thiết thực cho sự phát triển của tỉnh An Giang cũng như của vùng Đồng bằng sông Cửu Long trong thời kỳ mới”, Phó Tổng Giám đốc Tập đoàn T&T Group nhấn mạnh.

At the event, An Giang Chairman Ho Van Mung said the project fits the province’s socio-economic development strategy and investment attraction priorities for the 2025–2030 period and beyond. The project is also positioned as part of the province’s broader push to improve administrative reforms and the business environment, aligned with Resolution No. 68-NQ/TW dated May 4, 2025 on developing the private sector.

He also recognized the responsibility and determination of T&T Group in proposing and implementing the project, while acknowledging the cooperation of provincial agencies, local authorities, and affected households in completing procedures related to planning, land, investment, site clearance, and construction licensing.

“Tỉnh An Giang ghi nhận và đánh giá cao tinh thần trách nhiệm, sự quyết tâm của Tập đoàn T&T trong việc nghiên cứu, đề xuất và triển khai dự án; đồng thời, biểu dương sự phối hợp tích cực của các Sở, ban, ngành tỉnh, chính quyền địa phương và các hộ dân trong phạm vi ảnh hưởng của dự án đã phối hợp, tạo điều kiện, giúp đỡ chủ đầu tư hoàn tất các thủ tục về quy hoạch, đất đai, đầu tư, giải phóng mặt bằng, cấp phép xây dựng… để dự án được khởi công ngày hôm nay”, Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh An Giang nhấn mạnh.

Part of T&T Group’s broader industrial infrastructure expansion

The groundbreaking extends T&T Group’s footprint in industrial infrastructure development. Previously, the group launched Phase 1 of Nam Phuc Tho Industrial Cluster in Hanoi, with a scale of 41.7 hectares, as part of a broader plan to build a nationwide chain of modern, synchronized, and sustainable industrial parks.

Social support announced at the event

Within the ceremony framework, T&T Group also announced support of nearly VND 1 billion to subsidize 30% of the 2026 health insurance card value for near-poor households in Long Xuyen, My Thoi, Binh Duc, and My Hoa Hung, contributing to the goal of full health insurance coverage for local residents.

What investors can take away

Vam Cong Industrial Park is positioned as a new industrial gateway in the Mekong Delta, built around three practical pillars:

  • Large-scale land availability (199.2 ha) backed by significant infrastructure investment (VND 4,800 billion)

  • Multi-modal logistics connectivity (expressways, port access, waterways, and airport proximity)

  • A green, multi-functional planning model (ECOTECH 21, with logistics allocation and meaningful ecological space)

For investors evaluating southern Vietnam beyond traditional industrial hubs, this project signals a clear push to develop the Mekong Delta’s industrial base in a more modern and logistics-driven direction.
