On March 21, at the Tan Chi industrial cluster (Tan Chi commune), Dabaco Vietnam Group held the inauguration ceremony for Phase 2 of its vegetable oil plant, marking a major step in the company’s strategy to expand an integrated, closed-loop agricultural production chain.
The new phase adds 1,000 tons of seed processing capacity per day, bringing the plant’s total capacity to 1,500 tons per day. Dabaco positions the project as a move toward stronger deep-processing capability and higher value creation across Vietnam’s agriculture and food supply system.
Phase 2 construction began in January 2024 with a total investment of VND 1,800 billion. With Phase 2 completed, the combined investment for both phases has exceeded VND 3,000 billion, equivalent to around USD 115 million.
Once operating at stable performance, the plant is designed to supply:
Over 100 million liters of refined cooking oil per year
Around 400,000 tons of soybean meal
About 5,500 tons of lecithin
These outputs are described as essential inputs for the food processing and animal feed industries. Dabaco expects the project to help reduce reliance on imports and strengthen domestic supply security.
A key highlight of the project is its use of modern production technologies. The plant applies:
“Zero Influence” extraction technology
Nano refining technology
These solutions are supplied by Desmet. Dabaco states that the technologies are intended to optimize efficiency and product quality while reducing environmental impact, aligning the project with green and sustainable development trends.
For investors following Vietnam’s agro-industrial expansion, Dabaco’s Phase 2 inauguration signals a clear direction: scaling domestic processing capacity, moving up the value chain through deeper processing, and strengthening local supply resilience with modern, more sustainable production technology.
