Meiko has started construction of a USD 255 million factory in Quang Minh, Hanoi. The facility will produce advanced HDI printed circuit boards for AI smartphones, 5G systems and electric vehicles, with mass production planned for 2027 and annual revenue targeted at 30 billion yen by 2029.

Meiko has officially started construction of its USD 255 million Factory No. 3 in Quang Minh, Hanoi, marking a major step in the Japanese electronics group’s expansion in Vietnam. The new facility will produce next-generation HDI printed circuit boards for AI smartphones, 5G systems and electric vehicles, with mass production expected to begin in 2027.
The project is developed by Meiko Electronics Quang Minh Co., Ltd., under Japan’s Meiko Group, a leading global name in printed circuit boards. The factory is located in Quang Minh Industrial Park in Hanoi and covers a total floor area of 53,000 square metres on a 6.3-hectare site.

With total investment of about USD 255 million, the project will bring Meiko’s accumulated investment in Hanoi to around USD 800 million. This scale reflects the group’s continued commitment to expanding high-value electronics manufacturing capacity in Vietnam.
Factory No. 3 will focus on advanced HDI PCB products. These boards are designed to support higher component density in increasingly compact electronic devices.

The facility is expected to serve demand from AI-enabled smartphones, 5G systems and electric vehicles. In particular, the new generation of AI smartphones requires circuit boards that can carry more components within limited device space. HDI technology is therefore becoming increasingly important for manufacturers building lighter, thinner and more powerful electronics.
The project officially broke ground on 6 May 2026. According to the current plan, mass production is expected to start in 2027.
By 2029, Meiko targets annual revenue of 30 billion yen from the Quang Minh factory. This goal underlines the role of the new facility not only as an additional production site, but also as a strategic manufacturing base for advanced PCB products in Vietnam.
Meiko has already established a significant manufacturing presence in Vietnam. The group has operated PCB and electronic component production at several locations, including Hanoi, Hai Duong and Phu Tho.

The new Quang Minh project adds further capacity at a time when demand for advanced circuit boards is being driven by AI-enabled devices, 5G applications and electric mobility. For Vietnam’s industrial sector, the project strengthens the country’s position as a destination for high-tech electronics manufacturing.
The groundbreaking of Meiko’s USD 255 million factory in Hanoi is therefore more than a construction milestone. It signals the continued shift toward more advanced electronics production in Vietnam and reinforces Hanoi’s role in the regional manufacturing supply chain.
