Da Nang Rubber Joint Stock Company (DRC)—a member of Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem)—has officially inaugurated the expansion project of its radial tire manufacturing plant, increasing capacity to 1 million truck tires per year.
The event carries special significance as it not only marks DRC’s 50th anniversary, but is also recognized as one of 234 key national projects celebrating the 14th National Party Congress, with the ceremony broadcast live across 79 locations nationwide.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu, CEO of Vietnam National Chemical Group, emphasized:
“This is an important milestone, marking a new phase of development for DRC at a time when the tire industry is facing intense competition and significant volatility in raw materials and technology.”
The project has a total investment of approximately VND 916 billion and was implemented in a structured and disciplined manner, ensuring on-schedule delivery, quality, and operational efficiency. The capacity expansion not only scales up production, but also represents a qualitative shift toward higher-value growth, enhanced competitiveness, and broader market reach for Vietnamese tire products.
Once operating stably, the expanded plant is expected to create additional jobs for local workers, increase revenue, and make a meaningful contribution to the state budget, thereby supporting economic development in Da Nang City and strengthening Vietnam’s high-performance rubber industry.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Tu also reaffirmed Vinachem’s commitment to continuing long-term support for DRC, ensuring that investment efficiency is maximized and that the project contributes positively to the development of Vietnam’s industrial sector.
With its new capacity, DRC aims to better meet domestic demand for high-quality truck tires, reduce reliance on imports, and expand export market share. At the same time, the project is expected to generate spillover benefits for supporting industries, domestic raw material supply chains, and related industrial sectors—contributing to sustainable industrial growth at both regional and national levels.
Quang Ninh has inaugurated Phase 1 of Castem Vietnam’s precision mechanical engineering plant at Song Khoai Industrial Park (Amata Ha Long), marking another step in the province’s push to attract higher-value manufacturing projects. The facility is part of a broader investment with a total capital value of USD 18.6 million (around VND 433 billion).
