On March 17, Kim Long Motor held the inauguration ceremony for its new truck manufacturing plant at the Kim Long Motor Hue automobile production and assembly industrial zone, alongside the launch of new Kim Long–branded truck models.

According to Kim Long Motor, the truck plant is built on 10 hectares and equipped with modern production lines featuring a high level of automation and advanced global technologies.
Key production areas include:
Welding workshop: Uses a new-generation automated welding robot system operating in sync with precisely programmed sequences, forming a smart production network designed to ensure high structural accuracy across the vehicle body.
Paint line: Features advanced automation technologies, highlighted by an ED electro-deposition dipping system with 13 interconnected dipping tanks, each up to 15 meters long. This technology allows coating to penetrate deeply across metal surfaces, improving corrosion resistance, structural durability, and overall surface quality.
Assembly workshop: Designed for flexible manufacturing, enabling multiple truck models to be assembled on the same line. This setup supports operational efficiency and faster response to diverse market needs.
Kim Long Motor stated that the plant’s production processes comply with international management standards, including:
ISO 9001 (Quality Management System)
ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System)
IATF 16949 (International Automotive Quality Management System)
The truck plant is positioned as a strategic component in completing the Kim Long Motor Hue automotive manufacturing and assembly center, developed with the ambition to reach modern scale and capability at a regional level.
Together with other facilities in the ecosystem—such as a stamping and press mechanical plant, a YUCHAI engine manufacturing plant, an EV battery plant, a commercial vehicle painting plant, and related production units—the group aims to strengthen in-house capabilities across key components. This includes producing major truck parts such as the cabin, chassis, engine, battery, and cargo body, moving through to finished vehicles.
The company expects this integrated model to support tighter quality control, cost optimization, and higher localization levels, reinforcing its position as a capable commercial vehicle manufacturer.

Based on this foundation, the factory targets an annual supply of around 20,000 vehicles, serving the domestic market and gradually expanding exports to other countries in the region.
At the event, Kim Long Motor introduced four new Kim Long–branded models:
KIMAN 9 (payload options: 1.99 tons and 2.49 tons)
KIMLONG X9 VAN
GK48-EV, a fully electric van truck model
The product lineup includes both internal combustion and fully electric options, developed based on research into Vietnam’s real operating conditions. The company positions these models to meet high standards in safety, operational efficiency, and long-term cost effectiveness for customers.
