James Hoang - Vietnam Country Manager at VIVOTEK

Now Let’s get right into it.

Interviewer: If you had just 3–5 lines to describe yourself, what would you want people to remember about you?

I’m someone who believes that innovation should be meaningful, not just impressive. I build bridges between people, technology, and purpose. I lead with empathy, thrive in challenges, and push for solutions that truly make a difference. My personal motto—“Work Smarter, Play Smarter”—reminds me to bring both clarity and joy into everything I do.

Interviewer:  What sparked your journey into your current industry or profession? Was it by choice, chance, or calling?

It was a mix of calling and curiosity. Early on, I was fascinated by how security and automation could converge to create smarter, safer spaces. That fascination led me to VIVOTEK and to the mission of helping industries rethink how technology protects and empowers their operations.

Interviewer: What core values have guided your decisions throughout your career?

Integrity, adaptability, and long-term impact. I believe that trust is non-negotiable, change is constant, and every decision should leave the organization and its people better than before.

Interviewer: Can you describe your area of expertise and your current role (or most recent role) in a concise way?

At VIVOTEK, we specialize in intelligent video solutions. In simple terms, we help factories and businesses “see smarter”—from detecting safety hazards to analyzing workflow patterns—through advanced surveillance and AI-powered video analytics.

Interviewer: What type of problems or challenges do people/companies often come to you for help with?

Companies often approach us to improve their security infrastructure, ensure operational compliance, and digitize their monitoring processes. Increasingly, they also seek guidance on how video technology can support automation, efficiency, and predictive insights—not just surveillance.

Interviewer: What are the biggest misconceptions factory owners still have when it comes to your service?

Many still view video surveillance as a passive tool—just for after-the-fact review. Modern video systems can actively enhance productivity, detect anomalies in real-time, and even trigger automated workflows. It’s not just about security anymore—it’s about operational intelligence.

Moreover, a key value often overlooked is long-term reliability. As a global manufacturer with decades of experience and full control over our technology stack, VIVOTEK ensures consistent quality and peace of mind. Our customers don’t have to worry about third-party dependencies or platform instability—they can count on solutions that are built to last and evolve with their business.

Interviewer: Looking ahead 3–5 years, what key trends or technologies do you believe will transform the solar energy landscape in manufacturing?

AI-driven energy optimization, computer vision for maintenance prediction, and seamless integration between security, automation, and sustainability platforms. These technologies will help manufacturers reduce waste, ensure uptime, and turn ESG goals into actionable metrics.

At VIVOTEK, we’re proud to be more than a technology provider—we’re an active contributor to ESG-focused and environmentally responsible initiatives. Over the years, we’ve partnered in numerous LEED-certified projects and sustainability-driven designs, reflecting our core value of responsible innovation. Our commitment is to help customers meet the highest global standards while building a smarter and greener future.

Interviewer: If you had one message for manufacturers looking at Vietnam as a production base, how should they think about technology, automation in their expansion strategy?

IVietnam offers agility, resilience, and a rapidly growing, tech-savvy workforce. But beyond low costs, manufacturers should view Vietnam as a strategic hub for smart factory transformation. By embedding automation, connectivity, and sustainability into their expansion strategy from the outset, they can scale efficiently and stay competitive on a global stage.

Interviewer: Does the upcoming "Smart Factory Connect" event reflect VIVOTEK’s vision and commitment to supporting manufacturers grow?

Absolutely. “Smart Factory Connect” aligns with VIVOTEK’s mission to enable transformation through intelligent technology. We’re proud to sponsor this event and contribute to a dialogue that’s shaping the next generation of industrial innovation in Vietnam and beyond.

As part of the Delta Electronics ecosystem, VIVOTEK also benefits from the synergy of comprehensive smart manufacturing solutions—from energy management to industrial automation. Together, we’re helping build resilient, connected, and sustainable factory ecosystems, enabling manufacturers not just to grow—but to lead.

Interviewer: Thank you Mr. James Hoang
