Acecook Vietnam has started building its D-GROOVE R&D Center in Ho Chi Minh City to strengthen food innovation, expand advanced research, and support sustainable growth. The project is expected to open in 2027 and will connect research, product development, production, and global collaboration.
Acecook Vietnam has started construction of its new D-GROOVE Research and Development Center at Tan Binh Industrial Park in Ho Chi Minh City, marking a major step in the company’s plan to strengthen innovation, expand research capability, and support long-term sustainable growth. The project reflects Acecook’s shift from scaling production capacity alone to building deeper R&D strength as a new driver of value creation.
After more than 30 years of development in Vietnam, Acecook says it has continued to expand production, complete its nationwide factory network, and reinforce its leading position in the instant food sector. On that foundation, the company is now entering a new phase focused on raising its research and innovation capacity to create new value for consumers.
The D-GROOVE project is positioned as a central part of that transition. Acecook describes it as a center created to bring food value from Vietnam to the world. The name also reflects the company’s operating philosophy. “D” stands for Development, while “GROOVE” represents six core values: Global, Reliable, Origin, Open-minded, Valuable, and Evolution.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Acecook Vietnam General Director Kaneda Hiroki said: “To maintain our leading position and develop sustainably, we understand that R&D capability is the ‘heart’ of the business. To reach new heights, we need a stronger ‘lever’. The investment in the new Research and Development Center is not simply an expansion of research scale, but an urgent investment in the future, in innovation capability, and in the ability to adapt to the most demanding standards of the global market.”
According to the company’s plan, the D-GROOVE center is expected to be completed and begin operations in 2027. Once operational, Acecook Vietnam plans to apply advanced R&D technologies such as taste sensors and digital aroma analysis. The company says these capabilities will support research into new product categories and help it respond more fully to increasingly diverse and demanding consumer needs.
The center is also expected to serve as a bridge for research collaboration with other units across the global group. In Acecook’s strategy, that role is designed to strengthen internal synergies and help bring Vietnam-origin innovation to wider international markets.
Located on a site of more than 7,000 square meters, D-GROOVE is designed as a five-story integrated facility. The ground floor will function like a miniature factory, with a seamless production line that supports prototype development before products move into mass production. From the second floor upward, the building will house modern office space optimized for both collaboration and focused work through a mix of open areas and private zones.
Acecook says the building is also aligned with its sustainability commitments. Planned features include a solar power system, high-performance insulation materials, Low-E glass to reduce radiation, and an automatic lighting system that adjusts brightness and color to save energy.
Through D-GROOVE, Acecook Vietnam is working to complete a closed-loop ecosystem spanning research, development, production, and distribution. For the company, the new center is both a practical investment in future product development and a strategic step toward becoming a more comprehensive food manufacturer that delivers lasting value to consumers and society.
